About this wine

Pampre Meunier offers a rare opportunity to taste mature Meunier through Adrien Salot’s low-intervention lens. The wine undergoes indigenous-yeast fermentation, completed malolactic conversion and maturation in both steel and barrel before extended bottle ageing. Time has transformed the wine toward a more gastronomic register, with ripe peach, citrus and floral tones developing into honey, hazelnut, spice and wet-stone complexity. With no dosage to soften its edges, it remains savoury and mineral despite its breadth and maturity.

Tasting Note

Critics describe mature peach, heather honey and citrus alongside caramelised hazelnut, peach compote, lemon, wet stone and red berries, with impressive intensity and a very long finish.

In the glass

Deep amber-gold with copper reflections and a fine mousse.

In the nose

Mature peach, citrus, heather honey, white flowers, apple and warm spice.

On the palate

Full and intense, with peach compote, caramelised hazelnut, lemon, wet stone and red berry nuances over a very long finish.

Adrien Salot

Adrien Salot is a small-scale grower in the western Vallée de la Marne, farming around 2.2 hectares around Chézy-sur-Marne. An oenologist and artist, he works with a minimalist approach in the cellar, using indigenous yeasts and very little sulphur to create highly individual, terroir-driven Champagnes that emphasise the character of each vintage.
