About this wine

Pur Oger 2018 is sourced from two Chardonnay parcels in Oger Grand Cru: Les Rumigny, nestled in a valley between Avize and Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, and Les Noyerots, on the lower slopes of the plateau. Vinified in stainless steel and aged under cork before disgorgement, it sees a modest 4.1 g/L dosage. Aromatically it unfurls with white flowers, lemon oil, blanched almonds and ripe orchard fruit, underpinned by a chalky, marine edge. The palate is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping yet perfectly balanced, with a vinous texture, fine mousse and a long, saline finish that captures the dual nature of Oger’s terroir – both generous and taut. It is the most immediately seductive of the trilogy, but still has the structure to age gracefully.

Wine Advocate notes that the 2018 Pur Oger opens with white flowers, lemon oil, blanched almonds and ripe orchard fruits, is medium to full-bodied, fleshy and enveloping, and finishes long and saline after stainless-steel vinification, ageing under cork and disgorgement at 4.1 g/L dosage.
