About this wine

Granit 30 comes from young Syrah vines on 30%-slope granitic terraces in Cornas, with sustainable farming and hand harvesting. After a cold maceration, fermentation with native yeasts and relatively gentle extraction, the wine spends about three months in tank and a year in used barrels (2–8 years old), yielding a style that is vibrant and accessible yet structured enough for a decade’s ageing. James Suckling singles out the 2022 as a benchmark “bargain” Cornas, combining depth, freshness and terroir character at a still-sensible price.

Tasting Note

The 2022 shows stacks of forest-berry fruit, wild herbs, forest floor and a cool, granitic minerality. It is medium- to full-bodied but “vertical” rather than broad, with restrained richness, fine-grained tannins and a vibrant, mineral-charged finish that pulls you back to the glass.

In the glass

Deep ruby-purple with an opaque core and violet rim.

In the nose

Black cherry, blackberry and cassis with violets, cracked black pepper, graphite and a touch of smoked meat.

On the palate

Juicy, dark, and spicy, combining ripe black fruit with pepper, herbal lift and a firm but polished tannin frame; the finish is long, savoury and distinctly mineral.

Domaine Vincent Paris

Vincent Paris is one of the leading modern voices of Cornas, crafting pure, expressive Syrah from steep granite slopes. Working with old vines and low yields, he balances the appellation’s natural power with finesse, freshness and aromatic lift. His wines are structured yet refined, marked by dark fruit, pepper, smoke and a distinctive mineral backbone.
