About this wine

La Chatenière is one of Saint-Aubin’s most highly regarded climats, with thin soils and a warm exposure that give concentrated fruit but also strong mineral drive. The 2023 from Colin offers peach, apricot and citrus peel with floral lift and a firm, chalky backbone. It’s an assertive, gastronomic white Burgundy.

Peach, apricot, citrus zest, acacia and light toast.

On the palate

Medium-plus body with ripe stone fruit, lively acidity and a firm, stony finish.

Joseph Colin

Joseph Colin, from the Colin family of Chassagne, has quickly built a strong reputation for finely chiselled white Burgundies. Working primarily in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne and Puligny, he favours low yields, careful pressing and restrained bâtonnage to preserve tension and minerality. The resulting Chardonnays are vivid and precise, with citrus, stone-fruit and subtle reduction wrapped around a strong, saline backbone.
