About this wine

Lalù has quickly become known for Nebbiolo that feels lighter on its feet than many examples from the zone, leaning into fragrance, acidity and texture instead of sheer extraction. The clearest public source for the 2024 release states that the fruit was intensely selected after a cold, difficult vintage, with only about half of the crop retained, then macerated in concrete before transfer to Austrian oak vats. That suggests a wine with more purity and precision than weight, suited to drinkers who like Nebbiolo for its rose, red-fruit and mineral profile rather than for overt power.

Lalù

Lalù is a small, highly regarded Piedmont estate founded by Lara and Luisa in 2019, with its first Barolo fruit coming from Le Coste in Monforte d’Alba and additional Barbera from Bussia. The style is precise, graceful and quietly ambitious, with a focus on Nebbiolo and Barbera that highlights perfume, texture and vineyard clarity rather than extraction. It’s one of those young Langhe names that feels genuinely artisanal, but already very serious.
