About this wine

San Bernardo is Palladino’s noble expression of Serralunga, vinified only in top years and aged longer than the regular crus. The 2016 shows bright garnet colour and an intense nose of red fruits, rosemary, bitter orange, licorice and truffle. On the palate it is powerful yet elegant, with vigorous tannins, savoury minerality and a very long, balsamic finish. This is a serious Riserva that will evolve beautifully in the cellar.

Palladino is a traditional estate in Serralunga known for honest, classically structured Barolo. Farming historic crus such as San Bernardo and Ornato, they produce wines with depth, iron-tinged minerality and firm yet noble tannins. Their Barbera, Nebbiolo and whites show the same straightforward, terroir-first philosophy.
