About this wine

This tiny-production Coteaux Champenois comes from Les Courtisols, a Grand Cru parcel situated high on the slope in Verzy where good airflow and exposure allow Pinot Noir to ripen while retaining freshness. The fruit is spontaneously fermented in barrel and the wine undergoes full malolactic fermentation, giving the naturally bright Pinot Noir a rounded, silky texture without sacrificing its energy. Red berries and subtle spice dominate the aromatic profile, while the palate is fleshy and distinctly vinous. Production is extremely limited, making this an unusual still expression of one of Champagne’s great Pinot Noir terroirs.

Tasting Note

Critics describe crunchy fresh red fruit followed by delicate spice, with an ample, fleshy palate, rounded acidity and a fresh, lightly spicy finish.

In the glass

Translucent ruby-red with bright violet reflections.

In the nose

Fresh red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant with subtle peppery spice.

On the palate

Juicy and vinous, with bright red fruit, supple texture, rounded acidity and a fresh spicy finish.

Sacy Soeur & Frère

Sacy Soeur & Frère is a young project launched by siblings Yaël and Jonathan Sacy, revitalising their family’s vineyards in the Montagne de Reims. They bottle precise, low-dosage Champagnes and still Coteaux Champenois that explore specific lieux-dits and grape combinations, from Chardonnay-based Blanc de Blancs to structured Blanc de Noirs. The wines are modern in spirit – vivid, detailed and terroir-conscious – while remaining firmly rooted in Champagne’s craft.
