About this wine

This Gevrey-Chambertin Vieille Vigne comes from Domaine Fourrier, one of the reference-point estates of the village, known for wines of perfume, purity and minimal cellar manipulation. The house style is shaped by careful vineyard sorting, almost complete destemming, a short cold soak, limited sulfur and restrained use of new oak, typically no more than 20% across the range.

Wine Advocate describes the 2022 as offering sweet, jammy cherries, berries and licorice, followed by a medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent palate with an ample core of pure, sun-kissed fruit.

In the glass

Medium to medium-deep ruby. This is a style-consistent.

In the nose

Sweet cherries, mixed berries and licorice, with the bright, vivid fruit profile typical of Fourrier.

On the palate

Medium- to full-bodied, fleshy and succulent, with a generous core of ripe fruit and a velvety texture.

Domaine Fourrier

Domaine Fourrier is one of the leading names in Gevrey-Chambertin, known for producing exceptionally pure, terroir-transparent Pinot Noir. Under Jean-Marie Fourrier, the estate focuses on old vines, minimal intervention and gentle extraction, avoiding excessive oak or manipulation. The wines are defined by precision and finesse: vibrant red fruit, silky textures and a clear mineral backbone, with an elegance that belies their depth and aging potential.
