About this wine

“Intuition” is Lamblot’s experimental line, pushing low-intervention élevage further – native yeasts, full barrel vinification, no fining/filtration and typically no added sulphur. The Les Cochenes Intuition bottling shows intense, slightly wild aromatics of ripe apple, quince, citrus peel, herbs, spice and nuttiness, with a deep, structured palate and bracing, bone-dry finish. It’s aimed more at natural-wine and sommelier audiences than casual Champagne drinkers.

In the nose

Apple, quince and citrus peel with dried flowers, nuts and a touch of yeasty/oxidative complexity.

On the palate

A. Lamblot

Aurélien Lamblot is one of the new-wave grower names in Champagne, working small parcels with a decidedly artisanal mindset. Organic-leaning farming, fermentations in oak and a minimalist approach in the cellar yield intensely characterful wines that are vinous, textural and often quite dry. His parcellaire cuvées, including Les Cochenes and Intuition, are sought after for their combination of energy, complexity and distinct terroir voice.
