About this wine

Made entirely from Meunier, Murmures de Marne is one of Adrien Salot’s most direct expressions of the western Vallée de la Marne. The domaine’s indigenous-yeast, minimal-sulphur approach allows the grape and mineral soils to take centre stage, while zero dosage keeps the finished wine taut and transparent. The aromatic profile begins with white orchard fruit and citrus before opening toward a deeper, more savoury register in the glass. There is enough concentration and vinosity for food, but the defining feature remains its straight, saline energy.

Tasting Note

Critics describe white fruits and citrus leading into increasing depth, with a precise, saline palate, firm energy and a very dry finish.

In the glass

Pale gold with a fine, persistent mousse.

In the nose

White apple, pear, citrus peel and subtle mineral notes.

On the palate

Straight and energetic, with fresh orchard fruit, citrus, saline tension and a dry, persistent finish.

Adrien Salot

Adrien Salot is a small-scale grower in the western Vallée de la Marne, farming around 2.2 hectares around Chézy-sur-Marne. An oenologist and artist, he works with a minimalist approach in the cellar, using indigenous yeasts and very little sulphur to create highly individual, terroir-driven Champagnes that emphasise the character of each vintage.
