About this wine

Altero comes from estate Sangiovese but is aged in French oak tonneaux, giving a darker, glossier expression than the classic bottling. The 2015 shows ripe cherry and raspberry, sweet spices, vanilla, leather and a touch of tobacco, with good freshness underneath. It’s structured but more immediately seductive than many traditional Brunellos. A great option if you want a “modern” profile without losing typicity.
