About this wine

“Rocca de Piro” is sourced from two estate vineyards in the historic Grumello subzone, planted high on steep, stone-terraced slopes. Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) is macerated for over 100 days in large wooden vats, then aged around 18 months in big botti and vats before further rest in cement and bottle. The result is a ruby-hued red with aromas of rose petals, wild berries, graphite and alpine herbs, underpinned by a stony, cool core. On the palate it’s linear, mineral and long, with sweet, polished tannins and a juicy, pepper-tinged finish.

Arpepe

Ar.Pe.Pe. is the reference producer in Valtellina, crafting Nebbiolo (Chiavennasca) from steep, terraced vineyards high in the Alps. Long, gentle macerations and extended aging in large casks yield wines of delicacy, perfume and subtle power. They’re Burgundy-like in transparency, with beautiful acidity and mineral length.
