About this wine

Argent Rosé is Gramona’s top pink sparkling, sourced from high-altitude, organically and biodynamically farmed Pinot Noir in the heart of Penedès’ Corpinnat zone. First fermentation is carried out with great care to preserve delicacy, followed by a traditional-method second fermentation in bottle and extended ageing on the lees for several years before disgorgement. The style is resolutely dry (typically brut nature or extra-brut), emphasising red berries, citrus, crushed rose petals and a very fine, chalk-driven mousse. It’s a gastronomic rosé sparkling that feels closer to serious Champagne than to “party pink”, and works beautifully at the table.

Tasting Note

Recent reviews describe a refined, crystalline rosé with small, persistent bubbles, aromas of wild strawberry, cranberry and pomegranate, and a salty, mineral, bone-dry finish, underpinned by the precision of long lees ageing.

In the glass

Pale onion-skin / salmon pink with a very fine and persistent bead.

In the nose

Wild strawberry, redcurrant, blood orange zest, rose petals and a touch of brioche and chalk dust.

On the palate

Bone-dry, taut and focused; crunchy red berries and citrus, very fine mousse, marked saline minerality and a long, precise, gastronomic finish.

Gramona

Gramona is a reference house for long-aged traditional-method sparkling wines from Penedès. Organic and biodynamic vineyards, very long lees aging and low dosage give textured, complex bubbles that can rival serious Champagne. Their style is gastronomic and refined, with balance between ripe Mediterranean fruit and chalky, savoury depth.
