About this wine

Bonville’s Brut Grand Cru NV is a benchmark grower Blanc de Blancs, built on Chardonnay from the Grand Cru villages of Avize, Oger and Cramant. The cuvée blends several recent harvests, with alcoholic and malolactic fermentations in temperature-controlled stainless steel, followed by at least 30 months ageing on lees. In the glass it shows pale yellow to light gold tones and a fine, persistent mousse. The nose combines white flowers, white peach, grapefruit and blanched almond with a subtle, marine-like salinity. On the palate it is moderately weighted yet elegant: a lively, citrus-bright attack, a supple, creamy mid-palate and a long, mineral, mouth-watering finish that clearly reflects the chalk of the Côte des Blancs. It’s an ideal aperitif champagne, but has enough structure to carry through seafood and lighter dishes.

Tasting Note

Wine Advocate calls the NV Brut Grand Cru delicately floral, with spring blossoms, blanched almonds and lemon oil on the nose, a round and elegant citrus-lined palate and a pure, crystalline texture leading into a long, refreshing finish.

In the glass

Pale straw to light gold, very fine and steady mousse.

In the nose

White flowers, white peach, grapefruit, almond and a touch of flint.

On the palate

Lively citrus and orchard fruit, creamy mid-palate, saline, chalky finish.

Franck Bonville

A top grower in the Côte des Blancs specializing in Chardonnay from Avize, Oger, and Le Mesnil. Franck Bonville produces precise, chalk-driven Champagnes with tension, citrus lift, and refined mousse. Long lees aging adds depth without losing freshness. Clean, elegant, and consistently excellent across the range.
