About this wine

Sorì del Drago comes from 100% hand-harvested Barbera grown on hillside vineyards at 220–350 metres around Castiglione Falletto. The 2022 is fermented in temperature-controlled steel and aged 15–18 months in stainless steel, with no filtration before bottling, emphasising purity of fruit. Aromatically it shows dark red cherry, plum, licorice and mocha, with hints of spice; the palate is rich and heady yet kept in check by Barbera’s natural high acidity. It’s a serious but very drinkable Barbera that offers outstanding value from an elite Barolo estate.

Tasting Note

Galloni describes the 2022 Sorì del Drago as a juicy, textured wine with dark red cherry, plum, licorice and mocha dialled up, noting that vinification and ageing in steel preserve freshness despite its richness.

In the glass

Deep ruby-purple.

In the nose

Dark cherry and plum with licorice, mocha and a touch of spice.

On the palate

Juicy and textured, with generous dark fruit, lively acidity, moderate tannins and a persistent, fruit-and-mocha finish.

Brovia

Brovia is a classic Barolo producer with top holdings in crus like Rocche and Villero. The wines are traditionally vinified, with long macerations and large cask aging, giving structured, precise and terroir-faithful expressions of Nebbiolo. They show purity rather than flash, and age superbly.
