About this wine

Barbera d’Alba “Plaustra” comes from a north-west-facing vineyard planted in 2008 in Santa Maria di La Morra, just behind the Burzi winery, farmed with practising-organic methods. The 2023 shows pronounced cherry, strawberry, raspberry and plum on the nose, with pepper, a hint of leather and a touch of spice. The palate is medium-bodied and very juicy, with lots of freshness, balanced ripe tannins and a persistent, red-fruited finish. It’s a fantastic, characterful Barbera that over-delivers for the price.
