About this wine

Cerbaiona’s Brunello comes from old vines on a prized northeast-facing slope above Montalcino. The 2020, from a warm but balanced vintage, is deep and aromatic: dark cherry and plum, balsamic notes, rose petals, spice and ferrous/mineral hints. The palate is powerful yet energetic, with vibrant acidity and fine, tactile tannins. A brilliant, highly collectible Brunello with great cellar prospects.

Tasting Note

Early critic impressions emphasise vivid red and black fruit, floral lift, balsamic notes and a long, firmly structured but refined palate.

In the glass

Deep ruby with excellent brightness.

In the nose

Dark cherry and plum, rose, balsamic notes, spice and a subtle iron/mineral tone.

On the palate

Concentrated and vibrant, with juicy fruit, lively acidity and fine, gripping tannins.

Cerbaiona

A cult, tiny-production estate delivering some of the most distinctive Brunello in the region. Cerbaiona favors traditional methods and low yields, producing wines with lifted aromatics, depth, and remarkable tension. Pure, soulful Sangiovese that ages gracefully. Highly sought-after and produced in very limited quantities.
