About this wine

This is the domaine’s benchmark Chablis, sourced from ~30-year-old vines on Kimmeridgian limestone around Lignorelles. Fermented at low temperature to preserve precision, and aged around 10–14 months mostly in stainless steel with a small proportion in older barrels, it balances ripe lemon and orchard fruit with the maritime salinity that defines serious Chablis. The style is energetic rather than opulent, making it both highly food-friendly and a great introduction to the domaine’s more serious single-site wines.

Tasting Note

Aromas of citrus zest, green apple and white flowers lead into a palate that is precise and linear, with bright acidity and a savoury, saline edge that lengthens the finish. There is enough mid-palate weight to handle richer seafood without sacrificing freshness.

In the glass

Pale straw with green highlights; bright and youthful.

In the nose

Lemon peel, crunchy green apple, white blossom and a hint of wet stone.

On the palate

Tense and mouth-watering, with citrus and green-apple fruit framed by chalky, saline minerality and a clean, dry finish.

Domaine Roland Lavantureux

Domaine Roland Lavantureux is a benchmark family estate in Chablis, known for precise, terroir-driven Chardonnay rooted in classic vinification. Farming key sites such as Vaudésir and Vauprin, the domaine favours clarity, minerality and balance over overt oak influence. The wines show crystalline citrus, saline tension and excellent aging potential, capturing Chablis in its most authentic form.
