About this wine

Capalot is one of Crissante Alessandria’s historic crus, vinified separately and aged traditionally. The 2020 shows intense garnet colour and a nose of red fruits, blackberries and plum, woven with notes of vanilla, mint and leather. On the palate it is full-bodied and richly textured, with noble tannins and an excellent, persistent finish that balances ripe fruit and savoury complexity. Xtrawine notes that it’s a true “meditation wine,” already delicious but built to last 10–15 years. This is a serious, traditionally raised Barolo that will sit happily alongside more famous names from La Morra.
