About this wine

This 2006 Millésime is one of the signature wines of Egly-Ouriet, sourced from estate vineyards in Ambonnay and built from 70% Pinot Noir and 30% Chardonnay. Technical sheets describe fermentation on indigenous yeasts in French oak barrels, with malolactic conversion stopped and dosage kept below 2 g/L, all of which sharpen the wine’s tension and preserve freshness despite its maturity. After roughly eight years in bottle before release, the wine develops the layered breadth and savoury complexity that make Egly-Ouriet one of Champagne’s great grower references. It is a serious gastronomic Champagne.

Egly-Ouriet

Egly-Ouriet is one of Champagne’s cult grower estates, celebrated for its powerful, terroir-driven wines from Grand Cru vineyards in Ambonnay. Long lees aging, old vines and meticulous vineyard work produce deeply vinous Champagnes with remarkable texture, complexity and structure. Pinot Noir plays a central role, giving the wines richness and depth while maintaining superb tension and precision.
