About this wine

Rabajà is one of Barbaresco’s most revered crus, and in 2017 Giacosa crafts a wine that defies the warmth of the vintage with poise and finesse. The nose is packed with blackcurrant, plum and morello cherry, layered with mint, tobacco, liquorice and earthy tones. On the palate it is concentrated and muscular yet never heavy, with firm, ripe tannins and a salty, mineral edge that carries through to the long finish. This is a serious, cellar-worthy Barbaresco that will reward patience while already offering impressive aromatic complexity in the glass.

Tasting Note

Wine Advocate emphasises generous dark fruit wrapped around a striking mineral core, evolving into spice, liquorice and cinnamon. Suckling notes saturated cherry and plum flavours with mint, tobacco and earthy notes, describing a chewy, muscular structure and persistent finish.
