About this wine

Jean Fournier’s 2021 Marsannay Les Longeroies Blanc comes from the historic, biodynamically-inspired domaine in Marsannay-la-Côte, where the family has crafted wines since the 17ᵗʰ century. This cuvée is 100% Chardonnay from the Longeroies vineyard — one of the larger, well-exposed plots of the estate.

Tasting Note

A polished, terroir-driven white Burgundy: fresh and elegant, precise yet generous. Not ostentatious, but nuanced. A wine that delivers both pleasure now and rewards on short- to mid-term cellaring.

In the glass

Pale to mid-lemon gold, clear and limpid, with a gentle glow typical of a balanced Burgundy white.

In the nose

Delicate and inviting: citrus zest (lemon, a touch of orange rind), orchard fruit (green apple, maybe ripe pear), light white-flower or blossom nuance, and a subtle chalky/mineral undercurrent. A faint minerality or stony note adds elegance and depth.

On the palate

Refined but lively acidity, delivering a vibrant yet softly rounded texture. Flavours echo citrus and orchard fruits, with stone fruit hints (white peach or pear), underlain by a minerally backbone. The finish is clean, fresh, mineral-tinged, with a gentle dryness. Not overtly oaky or heavy, but expressive and balanced.

Jean Fournier

Based in Marsannay, Domaine Jean Fournier is one of the key names behind the appellation’s rising reputation. The estate is organically certified and often works with a light touch in the cellar to highlight juicy, red-fruited Pinot and vibrant Aligoté. Across the range – from Bourgogne to top Marsannay lieux-dits – the wines combine freshness, structure and a distinctly savoury, terroir-led profile.
