About this wine

Sourced from mature vines in Comblanchien and Brochon, this cuvée sits a step up in concentration and depth versus the regional wines. Expect black cherry and plum, hints of forest floor and spice, and a fine but assertive tannic backbone. It’s a classic cool-climate Pinot built for food and a few years in the cellar.

Tasting Note

Critics describe it as dark-fruited, sappy Pinot with ripe tannins and impressive length for the appellation.

In the glass

Deep ruby.

In the nose

Black cherry, wild berries, subtle sous-bois and spice.

On the palate

Medium-plus body with juicy dark fruit, firm but polished tannins and a stony, savoury finish.

Jérôme Galeyrand

Jérôme Galeyrand is a rising star of the Côte de Nuits, working mostly with old vines on cooler sites from Bourgogne-level to Gevrey-Chambertin. Organic-leaning farming, significant whole-cluster use and delicate extractions give wines that are perfumed, silky and full of nuance. His reds show a very pure, transparent expression of Pinot Noir, with a lovely balance of charm and depth.
