About this wine

La Justice sits on the lower slopes of Gevrey-Chambertin, on stony soils that give wines of both generosity and finesse. Galeyrand farms organically and picks on the earlier side, resulting in a Gevrey that’s vibrant rather than heavy. Expect layers of cherry, blackberry, violets and spice with supple but persistent tannins and a long, savoury finish.

Jérôme Galeyrand is a rising star of the Côte de Nuits, working mostly with old vines on cooler sites from Bourgogne-level to Gevrey-Chambertin. Organic-leaning farming, significant whole-cluster use and delicate extractions give wines that are perfumed, silky and full of nuance. His reds show a very pure, transparent expression of Pinot Noir, with a lovely balance of charm and depth.
