About this wine

Le Cran is sourced from high, rocky parcels that give low yields and naturally vivid acidity. The 2022 vintage offers a spectrum of red berries, pomegranate, spice and a cool, stony undertow. It’s tightly woven and energetic, with a long, saline finish.

Tasting Note

Critics present it as a taut, mineral, red-berry driven wine with fine-boned structure.

In the glass

Bright medium ruby.

In the nose

Redcurrant, cherry, pomegranate, wild herbs and crushed stone.

On the palate

Sleek and precise with cool red fruit, vibrant acidity and a long, saline, mineral finish.

Jérôme Galeyrand

Jérôme Galeyrand is a rising star of the Côte de Nuits, working mostly with old vines on cooler sites from Bourgogne-level to Gevrey-Chambertin. Organic-leaning farming, significant whole-cluster use and delicate extractions give wines that are perfumed, silky and full of nuance. His reds show a very pure, transparent expression of Pinot Noir, with a lovely balance of charm and depth.
