About this wine

Murgers des Dents de Chien sits high above the Côte with very thin, rocky soils and superb exposure, often producing wines rivaling Puligny 1er Crus. Colin’s 2023 bottling offers citrus, white peach, smoke and crushed rock, with great tension and length. It’s one of the most serious, ageworthy wines in the Saint-Aubin range.

Tasting Note

Early trade notes (Jasper Morris) emphasise its tightly coiled fruit, chiselled structure and saline, long finish (paraphrased).

In the glass

Pale lemon-green.

In the nose

Lime, lemon zest, white flowers, flint and wet stone.

On the palate

Medium body, laser-like acidity, citrus and stone fruit with pronounced mineral, saline length.

Joseph Colin

Joseph Colin, from the Colin family of Chassagne, has quickly built a strong reputation for finely chiselled white Burgundies. Working primarily in Saint-Aubin, Chassagne and Puligny, he favours low yields, careful pressing and restrained bâtonnage to preserve tension and minerality. The resulting Chardonnays are vivid and precise, with citrus, stone-fruit and subtle reduction wrapped around a strong, saline backbone.
