About this wine

Hipping is one of Keller’s flagship Grosses Gewächs sites, and the 2013 vintage appears as a more classical, tensile expression of the vineyard. The style is centred on citrus, peach, floral notes and flinty minerality. The wine is an ageworthy, dry grand-cru Riesling of high precision. It is an excellent match for shellfish, langoustine and top-level fish dishes.

Tasting Note

John Gilman’s note describes white peach, tangerine, bee pollen, lemon blossom, slate and citrus peel, with low residual sugar and high acidity.

In the glass

Pale lemon-gold. This is a style-consistent inference.

In the nose

White peach, tangerine, bee pollen, lemon blossom and slate.

On the palate

Dry, elegant and long, with mineral depth and vivid acidity.

Keller

Weingut Keller is one of the most sought-after names in global Riesling, based in Rheinhessen. Under Klaus Peter Keller, the estate produces extraordinarily precise, mineral-driven wines from top sites such as Hipping and Abtserde, alongside cult bottlings like G-Max. The wines are intense yet weightless, built for decades of evolution.
