About this wine

This reserve-level Spätburgunder comes from steep Rheinhessen vineyard sites and built for ageing rather than immediate softness. The style is closer to a restrained, structured red Burgundy interpretation than to a lush modern Pinot Noir. It pairs best with duck, game birds, veal and mushroom-based dishes.

Tasting Note

Tasting references describe red and black cherries, ripe strawberry and some blueberry, with the wine opening well after decanting.

In the glass

Medium to deep ruby. This is a style-consistent inference.

In the nose

Red and black cherries, ripe strawberry, subtle spice and savoury undertones.

On the palate

Structured and serious, with concentrated fruit, oak framing and a lingering savoury finish.

Keller

Weingut Keller is one of the most sought-after names in global Riesling, based in Rheinhessen. Under Klaus Peter Keller, the estate produces extraordinarily precise, mineral-driven wines from top sites such as Hipping and Abtserde, alongside cult bottlings like G-Max. The wines are intense yet weightless, built for decades of evolution.
