About this wine

Les Champs Libres is the Guinaudeau family’s radical take on dry white Bordeaux: old-massale Sauvignon Blanc on a cool, limestone plateau near Fronsac, farmed and vinified with Grand Cru care. The 2023 shows crystalline citrus, white peach and fennel over a spine of wet stone and sea spray. Texture is broad yet tightly coiled, giving a real sense of dry extract and pedigree. This is a cerebral, age-worthy white that sits stylistically somewhere between top Bordeaux blanc and serious Sancerre.

Tasting Note

Recent barrel tastings describe Les Champs Libres as intensely mineral, with lime, grapefruit, white flowers and subtle oak spice, framed by racy acidity and a long saline finish.
