About this wine

Sourced from a high, chalk-rich hillside near Fronsac, Les Perrières de Lafleur is conceived as the red twin to Les Champs Libres. The 2021 vintage emphasizes fragrance and finesse: blackcurrant, red plum, graphite and violets over a saline, stony backbone. Tannins are fine-grained but firm, giving a very straight, almost Cabernet-Franc-meets-Burgundy profile with impressive length. It’s a sophisticated, intellectual Bordeaux that rewards aeration and careful cellaring.

Tasting Note

Wine Advocate praises 2021 Les Perrières for its aromas of cassis, plum, pencil shavings and violet; the palate is described as medium-bodied, precise and saline, with chalky tannins and a long, tense finish.

Deep ruby-purple with bright rim.

In the nose

Blackcurrant, red cherry, graphite, violets and crushed stone.

On the palate

Linear, finely etched dark fruit with chalky tannins and a savoury, saline aftertaste.

Chateau lafleur

The Guinaudeau family of Château Lafleur produce some of Bordeaux’s most sought-after wines, both in Pomerol and with satellite projects like Les Champs Libres and Les Perrières. Their philosophy centres on precision, low yields and an almost obsessive focus on terroir expression. Whether red or white, the wines are intensely detailed, structured and built to age.
