About this wine

Genevrières is one of Meursault’s most celebrated premiers crus, and Latour-Giraud is particularly admired for its interpretation. The 2022 vintage delivers a concentrated, layered wine with ripe stone fruit, citrus oil and hints of grilled nuts and smoke. The palate is powerful but impeccably balanced, with dense fruit, vibrant acidity and a long, savoury, slightly smoky finish. This is a serious white Burgundy built for ageing, with a drinking window easily stretching 10–15 years.

Tasting Note

Robinson characterises the 2022 Genevrières as rich and concentrated, with intense, ripe fruit, a smoky edge and a very long finish, underpinned by good acidity.

In the glass

Medium lemon-gold, slightly more intense than Bouchères.

In the nose

Peach and apricot, lemon oil, toasted hazelnut, smoke, and a touch of flint.

On the palate

Fuller-bodied, very concentrated and long, with ripe stone fruit, spice, smoky complexity and a driving, citrusy acidity.

Latour-Giraud

Latour-Giraud is a classic Meursault domaine, known for serious, age-worthy whites from top village and premier cru sites such as Genevrières and Bouchères. The style is generous yet controlled: ripe fruit and creamy textures balanced by real drive, length and a fine line of acidity. Long lees aging and quality oak add complexity without smothering the wines’ underlying stony character; their reds from Pommard provide a savoury, structured counterpoint.
