About this wine

Les Poruzots is known for yielding more powerful Meursault, and Latour-Giraud’s 2022 fits that profile. The nose shows yellow plum, ripe apple and citrus peel with notes of toasted nuts and subtle reduction. On the palate, it feels broader and more vertical, with a firm core of fruit, serious acidity and a savoury, lightly spicy finish. This is a food wine par excellence, built to accompany lobster, turbot, sweetbreads or richer poultry, and will age gracefully for well over a decade.

Tasting Note

Morris notes a stricter, more compact style in Poruzots, with plenty of yellow-fruit weight, firm acidity and a precise, non-flamboyant finish, underlining its suitability for long ageing.

In the glass

Medium lemon-gold with a slightly richer hue.

In the nose

Yellow plum, ripe apple, citrus peel, toasted hazelnut and a faint smoky, spicy note.

On the palate

More muscular and vertical than Bouchères, with dense fruit, firm acidity and a savoury, long, slightly spicy finish.

Latour-Giraud

Latour-Giraud is a classic Meursault domaine, known for serious, age-worthy whites from top village and premier cru sites such as Genevrières and Bouchères. The style is generous yet controlled: ripe fruit and creamy textures balanced by real drive, length and a fine line of acidity. Long lees aging and quality oak add complexity without smothering the wines’ underlying stony character; their reds from Pommard provide a savoury, structured counterpoint.
