About this wine

This wine is one of the clearest examples of Legrand-Latour’s geology-first identity. Yprésien refers to the 48–56 million-year-old soil formations behind the wine, and describe the blend as Meunier and Pinot Noir grown in Vandières and Verneuil. The style is presented as artisanal and highly site-expressive rather than broad or commercial, with zero dosage, long lees ageing and no corrective treatments.

Tasting Note

Depth and drive with a crunchy mineral underpinning, alongside citrus pith, crushed stone and focused acidity.

In the glass

Pale gold with fine mousse.

In the nose

Citrus pith, crushed stones and dried herbal notes.

On the palate

Focused and mineral, with saline energy and crisp drive.

Legrand Latour

A small grower domaine led by Thibault Legrand-Latour, producing highly characterful, terroir-driven Champagnes—often Meunier-centred—from a limited vineyard base (commonly cited around 4 hectares). The estate is notable for its move to biodynamics (Demeter certification in 2019) and for vinification and ageing linked to the famed “Cave aux Coquillages” (shell-fossil cellars), a signature element of the domaine’s identity and style.
