About this wine

“LR” is the prestige cuvée of Colterenzio, named after long-time director Luis Raifer. Selected high-altitude parcels of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco and Sauvignon are blended into a deeply textured, complex white that balances ripe stone fruit and citrus with spice, toast and mineral drive. The 2019 is concentrated but beautifully balanced, suited both to immediate pleasure and long ageing.

Tasting Note

Wine Advocate and top merchants describe the 2019 as rich and expansive, with ripe peach, baked apple and tropical notes, hints of vanilla, hazelnut and sweet spice from long oak ageing, and a full-bodied palate brightened by lively acidity and a long, saline, mineral finish.

In the glass

Deep straw to light gold, viscous legs.

In the nose

Ripe peach, yellow plum and pineapple with brioche, toasted nuts and a smoky, spicy undertone.

On the palate

Full-bodied, creamy and concentrated, yet driven by tangy acidity and a long, salty, mineral finish.

Cantina Colterenzio

Cantina Colterenzio is a quality-driven cooperative in Alto Adige, based around Appiano/Eppan, working with high-altitude vineyards on steep Alpine slopes. The focus is on pristine, varietal whites and finely etched reds that showcase cool-climate freshness, bright fruit and clean lines. Modern cellar work and sustainable viticulture make Colterenzio a reference for precise, reliable mountain wines.
