About this wine

Coma Blanca is Mas d’en Gil’s top white, sourced from old terraces of Garnatxa Blanca and Macabeu on llicorella. The 2020 vintage marries ripe white stone fruit, citrus curd and floral notes with spice, toast and a strikingly saline, slatey edge. The palate is voluminous and layered but kept in check by bright acidity and a long, savoury, slightly smoky finish. It’s one of the reference white wines of Priorat.

Tasting Note

Highly expressive aromas of white peach, apricot, citrus zest and herbs with subtle oak spice; on the palate it is explosive and mouth-filling, combining ripe fruit, spice and Mediterranean character with perfectly integrated alcohol and a very long, mineral finish.

Medium golden straw.

Ripe stone fruit, citrus curd, honey, fennel, toasted nuts and wet slate.

On the palate

Broad and creamy yet fresh; powerful fruit wrapped in saline minerality and a long, spicy, smoky finish.

Mas d’en Gil is a historic estate in the heart of Priorat, combining old-vine Garnacha and Carinyena with Mediterranean herbs and llicorella (slate) soils. Their wines balance the region’s natural richness with freshness and minerality, moving away from heaviness toward depth, finesse and length. Expect dark fruit, spice and a clear sense of place.
