About this wine

Gisep is Massolino’s top Barbera, from very old vines in prime Serralunga sites with naturally low yields. The 2022 vintage was hot and dry but produced perfectly ripe, concentrated fruit; here it translates into an almost opaque purple colour and intense aromas of black cherry, plum, violets, sweet spice, licorice and a touch of smoke. The palate is full-bodied yet fresh, with Barbera’s high acidity wrapped in velvety, ripe tannins and a long, creamy finish. This is a Barbera that behaves like a small Barolo – ideal for richer meat dishes and long cellaring.
