About this wine

The red Clos de la Cerisaie comes from the same chalky vineyard as the white, planted to Cabernet Franc. With more than a decade in bottle, 2011 reveals evolved aromas of red and black fruits, dried flowers, leather, tobacco and forest floor. The palate is medium-bodied, with resolved tannins, fresh acidity and a long, earthy, mineral finish. It’s a soulful, Loire Cabernet with plenty of character.

Domaine Melaric

Domaine Mélaric is a small, artisanal estate working the limestone slopes of Saumur with organic and often biodynamic practices. They specialise in soulful Chenin Blancs and Cabernet Francs that are vibrant, saline and finely textured rather than powerful. The wines feel hand-crafted and honest, highlighting freshness, drinkability and a strong sense of place.
