About this wine

In top years Muraje selects the most complete casks of Carema to bottle as Riserva. The 2018 shows a slightly deeper colour than Patlù and a layered bouquet of sour cherry, dried flowers, blood orange, tobacco, spice and flinty minerality. The palate is medium-bodied but intense, with more mid-palate weight, deeper fruit and firmer tannins, while maintaining Carema’s trademark freshness and length. It feels like a distilled expression of the terraces and is a superb candidate for long ageing.

On the palate

Medium-bodied but intense, firm tannins, long savoury-mineral finish.

Muraje

Muraje is a tiny, highly artisanal project in Carema, working steep, terraced vineyards at the northern edge of Piedmont. The focus is on pure, high-altitude Nebbiolo that’s pale, aromatic and wonderfully tense, more about perfume and minerality than weight. Low intervention in the cellar lets the mountain character shine through.
