About this wine

Selma de Nin comes from steep, limestone-rich terraces around 650–800 m in the Serra de l’Ancosa, planted to Chenin Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne, Parellada-Montonega and other Mediterranean whites. Biodynamic farming, low yields and long ageing on fine lees in old barrels give a textured, complex wine that somehow stays weightless. Expect stone fruit, beeswax, Mediterranean herbs, smoke and a driving, chalky backbone. 2023 follows the same blueprint as the 2021/22 vintages that earned rave reviews from the Wine Advocate.

Tasting Note

Aromas of peach, apricot and quince mingle with honeysuckle, anise, wet stones and a hint of smoke; the palate is broad but vibrant, with waxy texture, salty grip and a very long, mineral finish.

Deep lemon-gold.

In the nose

Ripe peach, quince, acacia honey, fennel, toast and wet chalk.

On the palate

Full and layered yet taut; stone fruit and citrus oil with waxy, saline, chalk-driven length.

Família Nin-Ortiz farms steep, high-altitude vineyards in Priorat biodynamically, focusing on old-vine Garnacha and Carinyena. The wines are intense yet incredibly detailed, with pure fruit, wild herbs and a striking mineral core from their slate and clay soils. They are among the most refined, terroir-driven expressions of modern Priorat.
