About this wine

Terra Vermella (“red earth”) comes from parcels on iron-rich red clay mixed with slate, giving a broader, more velvety texture than the pure llicorella wines. The blend leans on Garnatxa with a good proportion of Carinyena, farmed biodynamically and vinified with whole bunches and native yeasts. Ageing is in large foudres and concrete, keeping oak in the background. 2023 shows ripe red and black fruit, warm spice, balsamic notes and a savoury, earthy depth, finishing with firm but civilised tannins.

Tasting Note

Ripe cherry and plum with dried herbs, liquorice and warm earth; the mouthfeel is generous but not heavy, supported by fresh acidity and mineral grip.

In the glass

Deep ruby with a garnet hint.

In the nose

Black cherry, plum, dried thyme, liquorice, iron and warm clay.

On the palate

Supple attack of ripe fruit, then more savoury and earthy with fine, powdery tannins and a warming, mineral-savory finish.
