About this wine

Vecchie Vigne comes from older Sangiovese vines on both northern and southern slopes, vinified with meticulous selection and aged in French barriques. The 2016 shows intense black cherry and blackberry with mocha, spice, underbrush and floral notes. It’s structured and concentrated, but the vintage’s freshness keeps it from heaviness, and the tannins are abundant yet refined. A long-lived, ambitious Brunello.

Tasting Note

Wine Advocate describes dark cherry and plum, grilled herb and spice with evident but well-judged new oak, a full-bodied palate and firm tannins, noting that the wine’s concentration and structure make it a strong candidate for long cellaring.
