About this wine

From deep gravel and clay in Pessac-Léognan, Pape Clément 2009 showcases super-ripe blackcurrant and plum fruit with notes of incense, spice box, truffle and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied and velvety, with abundant but ripe tannins and a long, spicy, slightly exotic finish. It’s a powerful, opulent expression of Graves that pairs well with equally rich cuisine.

Château Pape Clément

With roots back to the 13th century, Château Pape Clément is one of Bordeaux’s oldest documented estates and a star of Pessac-Léognan. Both the reds and whites are plush, polished and intensely aromatic, often with a luxurious sheen from meticulous oak work. Under modern stewardship the estate has become a reference for opulent yet well-structured Graves.
