About this wine

Bin 311 is Penfolds’ “baby Yattarna”, sourcing high-altitude, cool-climate Chardonnay from Tasmania, Tumbarumba and the Adelaide Hills. The 2023 vintage shows lifted aromas of lemon, grapefruit and white peach with struck-flint notes, cashew, nougat and hints of toast. The palate is medium-bodied and precise, with juicy acidity, subtle creaminess from barrel fermentation and a long, mineral finish that makes it highly versatile at the table.

Tasting Note

On the palate

Penfolds

Penfolds is one of Australia’s great historic names, famous for multi-regional blending and a very consistent, house-driven style. From icons like Grange to cooler-climate Chardonnays such as Bin 311, the wines are built on ripe, pure fruit framed by polished oak and clear varietal character. It’s a producer that combines scale with high quality, delivering both collectable bottlings and impeccably made everyday “bins”.
