About this wine

Grand Bourgogne Chardonnay (often labelled Bourgogne Chardonnay) comes from sites in and around the Côte d’Or but receives the same careful treatment as Colin’s higher appellations. The 2023 vintage is expressive and charming, with aromas of citrus, pear and white blossom alongside gentle notes of butter and hazelnut. The palate is medium-bodied, fresh and nicely textured, making it an excellent everyday Burgundy that nonetheless has real finesse. It pairs with almost anything from grilled fish to roast chicken or creamy pastas.

Tasting Note

Critics describe the cuvée as a lively, well-balanced Chardonnay with ripe fruit and discreet oak, punching above its Bourgogne classification.

In the glass

Pale lemon.

In the nose

Lemon, green apple, white flowers, light butter and nutty hints.

On the palate

Fresh and medium-bodied with clean citrus/pear fruit, a touch of creaminess and a crisp, easy, lightly mineral finish.

Philippe Colin

Philippe Colin’s estate, born from the division of the Colin-Deléger domaine, focuses on Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and neighbouring villages. His whites are clean, modern and precise, with well-judged use of oak and an emphasis on freshness and aromatic clarity. From Bourgogne Chardonnay to premier crus and the rare Chevalier-Montrachet, the wines offer a polished, accessible expression of Côte de Beaune terroir with enough depth to reward a few years in the cellar.
