About this wine

Morgeot is one of Chassagne’s most substantial white sites, but Ramonet’s version avoids heaviness by preserving lift and crystalline definition. Merchant references for the 2021 describe old vines from multiple parcels within Morgeot on red-clay and limestone soils, with whole-cluster pressing, indigenous yeasts, fermentation beginning in tank and finishing in oak, and around 12–15 months of élevage with moderate new wood. The resulting wine is concentrated and textural, but still bright and mineral, very much in the Ramonet style.

On the palate

Jean-Claude Ramonet

Jean-Claude Ramonet is one of Burgundy’s most revered white wine producers, particularly famed for Chassagne-Montrachet and grand cru Chardonnay. The wines are intensely concentrated yet incredibly precise, balancing richness with electric acidity and chalky minerality. Ramonet’s style is unmistakable: layered citrus, hazelnut, subtle reduction and extraordinary aging potential.
