About this wine

This is Roberto Voerzio’s foray into Barbera d’Asti, made from very low-yielding vines around Canelli and Nizza Monferrato. Fermented in steel with indigenous yeasts and aged 12 months in barrique, it shows deep colour, intense ripe cherry and plum, plus notes of chocolate, coffee and sweet spice from oak. The palate is powerful but balanced by Barbera’s acidity, leading to a long, persistent finish. A luxurious, cellar-worthy Barbera d’Asti.

Full-bodied and dense with bright acidity, velvety tannins and a long, oak-spiced finish.

Roberto Voerzio

Roberto Voerzio is one of Barolo’s most influential modernists, famed for extreme low yields and meticulous vineyard work. The wines are intensely concentrated yet surprisingly refined, with glossy fruit, fine-grained tannins and impressive purity. His Baroli from crus like Brunate, La Serra and Rocche dell’Annunziata have become cult references for opulent, collectible Nebbiolo.
