About this wine

Disanfrancesco comes from estate vines in La Morra, pruned for very low yields, and vinified with great care. The 2022 shows black cherries, dried wildflowers, mint and white pepper on the nose. The palate is medium-bodied but intense, with fine, persistent tannins and vibrant acidity, after ageing 12 months in tonneaux (30% new) and a further eight months in 25-hl casks and tank. It’s unfined and unfiltered, and built to age for more than two decades.

James Suckling describes a floral, subtle Nebbiolo with red licorice and tea notes and very fine structure.

Black cherry, red licorice, dried flowers, mint and white pepper.

Medium-bodied, energetic, with juicy fruit, firm but fine tannins and a long, spicy, mineral finish.

Roberto Voerzio is one of Barolo’s most influential modernists, famed for extreme low yields and meticulous vineyard work. The wines are intensely concentrated yet surprisingly refined, with glossy fruit, fine-grained tannins and impressive purity. His Baroli from crus like Brunate, La Serra and Rocche dell’Annunziata have become cult references for opulent, collectible Nebbiolo.
