About this wine

Rocche dell’Annunziata is often considered La Morra’s grand cru, and Voerzio treats it accordingly. The 2019 combines intense red and black fruits, rose and spice with deep, suave texture. Tannins are abundant but ultra-fine, giving a velvety yet firm structure, and the finish is long, savoury and perfumed. A cornerstone Barolo for collectors.

Tasting Note

James Suckling emphasises its richness, depth and stunning balance.

In the glass

Deep garnet with excellent concentration.

In the nose

Ripe cherry, plum, rose, sweet spice and subtle oak.

On the palate

Full, plush texture, layered fruit, very fine tannins and a long, harmonious finish.

Roberto Voerzio

Roberto Voerzio is one of Barolo’s most influential modernists, famed for extreme low yields and meticulous vineyard work. The wines are intensely concentrated yet surprisingly refined, with glossy fruit, fine-grained tannins and impressive purity. His Baroli from crus like Brunate, La Serra and Rocche dell’Annunziata have become cult references for opulent, collectible Nebbiolo.
