About this wine

This rare all-Chardonnay Champagne comes from the Grand Cru village of Verzy in the Montagne de Reims, specifically from the Saint-Bets and Croix de l’Aumônier parcels. The wine is vinified entirely in oak barrels, with both alcoholic and malolactic fermentations occurring spontaneously, production is tiny, around 1,200 bottles, with dosage at just 0.8 g/L. That combination gives the wine both oak-borne breadth and serious mineral cut. It is an excellent gastronomic Blanc de Blancs for shellfish, turbot or lobster.

Tasting Note

Critics position it as a dry, oak-shaped but precise Chardonnay Champagne with Verzy freshness and chalky drive.

In the glass

Pale lemon-gold with a fine mousse. This is consistent with the style.

In the nose

Citrus, chalk, orchard fruit and subtle oak spice.

On the palate

Dry and tightly drawn, with creamy texture from barrel work and a long mineral finish.

Sacy Sœur & Frère

Sacy Soeur & Frère is a young project launched by siblings Yaël and Jonathan Sacy, revitalising their family’s vineyards in the Montagne de Reims. They bottle precise, low-dosage Champagnes and still Coteaux Champenois that explore specific lieux-dits and grape combinations, from Chardonnay-based Blanc de Blancs to structured Blanc de Noirs. The wines are modern in spirit – vivid, detailed and terroir-conscious – while remaining firmly rooted in Champagne’s craft.
