About this wine

Treinspoor comes from a single old-vine parcel of Tinta Barocca on decomposed granite and iron-rich soils next to an old railway line. The 2024 shows dark plum, blackberry and black cherry with violets, liquorice, cocoa and earthy spice. The palate is medium-to-full-bodied with firm but polished tannins, refreshing acidity and a savoury, slightly ferrous, mineral finish.

Sadie Family

Eben Sadie’s wines helped redefine the Swartland, focusing on old vines, dry farming and field blends. His whites and reds are subtle, textural and incredibly detailed, often from forgotten varieties and marginal sites. The philosophy is low-intervention and terroir-first, producing some of the Cape’s most sought-after, nuanced bottles.
